At Concepts in Millwork we value the opportunity to introduce new talent to the craft of millwork and train the next generation of custom millworkers. During our summer internship program we train our interns on a diverse set of skills and competencies to excel in their roles. These skills encompass both technical and soft skills necessary for crafting high-quality cabinets. Graduates of our program will gain skills in carpentry, woodworking machine proficiency, cabinet design and layout, material knowledge, safety awareness, teamwork, and communication. We’re excited to welcome our newest round of summer interns! We’ll be introducing them to you over the next few weeks. #summerinterns #nextgenerationofcrafsmanship #craftspeople #custommillwork #internshipprogram

#flashbackfriday to our summer kick-off event last week with FLIPPIN FLAPJACKS, LLC. We had a gorgeous, sunny, Colorado morning to ring in the start of summer with one of our favorite vendors. Flippin’ Flapjacks has become somewhat of a tradition at CIMI. Our team always looks forward to sharing a delicious meal and some quality time. #summerkickoff #workculture #workfamily #flippinflapjacks

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and as a millwork company deeply rooted in the construction industry, we understand the unique challenges our workers face. This recent article in the The Colorado Sun sheds light on the alarming rates of suicide among construction workers in Colorado. In Colorado and across the country, Americans working in the construction industry are four times more likely to die from suicide than the general population, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. At Concepts in Millwork, we prioritize the well-being of our team. We recognize the demanding nature of the construction sector and the toll it can take on mental health. This month, and every month, we're committed to fostering a supportive environment where open conversations about mental health are encouraged and resources are readily available. We participate in the Youturn Health program, which has given us the opportunity to raise our awareness and encourage candid conversations among our team members about our well-being. Let's break the stigma surrounding mental health in construction and ensure that no one suffers in silence. Together, we can build a healthier, happier industry. #mentalhealthawareness #breakthestigma #constructionIndustry https://lnkd.in/gF347QhY

At Concepts in Millwork we believe that the safety of our employees is of the utmost importance. Our Safety Manager Christine Bohl-Bellajaro works incredibly hard to offer safety programming and education year round so that we know we are adhering to the most up to date safety information available. This year, for #constructionsafetyweek, Christine organized a jam packed program schedule that not only educated our teams but made sure they had fun. From “encouraging bright ideas in construction safety” to “embracing your safety voice - wear your favorite band attire”, Christine ensured that our employees worked together to form a safer working environment for everyone at CIMI. Yesterday morning our sales team Sherri Lindsey and Kimberly Zemler and casework craftswoman Belle Laturno attended the AGC Safety Breakfast with the Board event. We were honored to receive the Red Level CHASE (The Construction Health and Safety Excellence) Award. This award recognizes firms at the Red, White and Blue levels based on the culture derived from their safety and health programs, maturity of training plans, employee engagement and continuous improvement techniques. Concepts in Millwork also received recognition for NASA (National AGC Safety Awards) program, where AGC/C members can evaluate their safety record as compared to other national AGC members in the same Division and similar man-hours. Companies participating in the program receive a Certificate of Commendation from AGC of America for Zero Lost Workday Case Rates or a Lost Workday Case Rate 25% below Division rate. These awards mean so much to us because they show we are effectively keeping our team safe on the job, which we couldn’t do without the guidance of Christine. Thanks to AGC Colorado for recognizing all the companies focused on Safety. It was a wonderful morning! #constructionsafety #CHASEaward #NASAaward #ACGcolorado
