Every month, we proudly recognize an outstanding team member with our "Wow Winner" award. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to DDCO's core values. In May, Lyn from our provider relations team earned this esteemed recognition. Lyn identified a need for an alternative way to distribute an important booklet to our providers, understanding that not everyone would utilize the physical format. Thanks to Lyn’s suggestion, our team was able to collaborate and devised a more effective and enjoyable distribution method, greatly benefiting our providers. Thank you for your forward-thinking approach and commitment to our mission. Your efforts truly make a difference. Congratulations, Lyn!

Last week, team members volunteered with Girls on the Run making tutus. If you haven’t heard of Girls on the Run, they are an afterschool program for girls that teaches them life lessons, inner strength, how to stand up for themselves, and helps to increase their level of physical activity. Why tutus you might be wondering? At the end of these programs, the girls participate in a 5K as a celebration and what better way to celebrate their accomplishments than with a little glitter and tulle! These tutus are given to an entire team with notes of encouragement that they can reach their goal of completing a 5K.

In 2023, 42.1% of uninsured Coloradans reported fair to poor oral health status in comparison to just 10.3% of Coloradans with private insurance. Understanding the oral health status of Coloradans and the barriers they face is crucial to improving overall health and ensuring equitable access to care. While data often exists, it isn't always easily accessible for decision-making, planning, and needs assessments. Last year, Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation with the help of Colorado Health Institute (CHI) proudly introduced the Colorado Oral Health Data Dashboard, a valuable resource for anyone seeking oral health data to make it more accessible. This interactive dashboard centralizes crucial oral health information through a user-friendly online platform. Also available is “Decay in Access: Barriers to Oral Health Care Remain in Colorado,” an insightful one-pager that highlights a number of data points with visually engaging graphics. https://lnkd.in/gpVUAJaU To learn more and better understand where Coloradans face oral health barriers, check out the database. https://lnkd.in/g98MCNHm
