Community Health Workers play a crucial role in overcoming healthcare barriers, especially in rural areas where access is limited. However, CHWs often face challenges in service delivery, including difficulties with Medicaid billing and insurance reimbursement. Although this is starting to change, tracking and billing for these services remain complex. To address this, Pima County, Arizona is developing technology solutions to enhance CHW capabilities and integrate them into the state's tech ecosystem. Its first phase using Dimagi's CommCare, marks a significant step towards empowering CHWs and improving healthcare access.
