Attention DC Disruptors, mark your calendars for Tuesday July 30th as DisruptHR DC jumps across the Potomac River to Mission Navy Yard for our next event! Last Summer, over 100 HR Leaders beat the heat and gathered in Arlington, VA for the relaunch of one of the area’s premier HR-information exchanges. We are looking forward to bringing the DC HR Community together again in support of a new set of status quo-challenging speakers and their innovative ideas. Stay tuned to the official DisruptHR DC website and LinkedIn page in the coming days for more information on how to apply to speak and how to get tickets to the hottest HR event in DC this Summer.
About us
Every so often someone or something comes along and turns things upside down. For the business world the time has come. We are a group of professionals who stand out in their fields – no paper pushers here. We ask questions, demand answers and want to know why YOU say it has to be that way. Our goal is to educate, network and have fun. We come together to share a variety of topics that span a variety of areas of expertise. We promise to show and tell you things that make you think differently, and leave you inspired. We aim to excite, NOT bore and no topic is off the table. The best part? This isn’t just about HR. No, seriously, typical events consist of up to 14 speakers, 5 minutes each, and slides rotate every 15 seconds (automatically, they have no choice.) The goal is for speakers to teach something, but make it quick. If you’re an HR professional, a CEO, a technologist, a community leader – and you’ve got something to say about talent, culture or technology – Disrupt is the place. And we’ve arrived in D.C.

James Baden from Paylocity shared how communication, and the technology used to deliver it, is now being viewed by all the generations in the workforce as a reflection of company culture. Considering that company culture is one of the biggest determinants of employee satisfaction, you will want to check out James' DirsuptHR DC speech below and learn more: https://lnkd.in/e-VETCMc

The Platinum Rule, "engage with others the way they want to be engaged with" has taken a backseat to the Golden Rule for centuries. While both rules should have a place in the office, utilizing the Platinum Rule and recognizing the Directors, Socializers, Relators, and Thinkers in your organization will help your teams work better together and achieve superior results. Milan Batinich II gave the audience a blueprint of how to identify and effectively manage these personas last August:

AI and technology were supposed to improve organizations' recruiting and interview processes. However, these innovations are proving to be a barrier to entry for qualified candidates, leaving millions of Americans without the jobs they deserve and thousands of organizations with tons of unfilled positions. Don't believe me? Let Brian Tucker, SPHR paint a clearer picture for you: https://lnkd.in/e6AkvaZg

Anna Bruns kicked off our last event, and she is starting our speaker spotlight series as well! Typically lacking the resources of a large company and the agility of a smaller firm, mid-sized organizations have to think outside the box when it comes to managing and measuring change. Fortunately, leaders in glue roles can help these efforts and elevate results and company culture. Check out Anna's DisruptHR DC presentation below to learn more: https://lnkd.in/e5BuxY8C
