Leadership for What's Next
About us
Leaders are the greatest levers for winning in an unpredictable world. They create the conditions for success with customers, employees, stakeholders and society. Duke CE's purpose is to help these leaders get ready for what’s next in the midst of uncertainty. We primarily do this through our custom leadership programs, consistently ranked at the top by the Financial Times and Business Week. Previous experiences, right answers and new content are insufficient in addressing today’s challenges. In some instances, these may actually be counter-productive. Leaders need to have the capacity to understand context and how things work systematically. To do this effectively requires more than simply closing knowledge gaps. It requires a more fundamental reorientation and re-wiring to be successful.

Can AI transform the way we work with "human capital,” by enhancing diversity, empowering women, and building a new generation of young leaders in the workplace? At Duke CE’s annual Davos of Human Capital event, in celebration of Women's Month in Johannesburg on August 21, top global speakers will share their thoughts on these key issues and more, as we shine a light on “Humanizing Leadership in the AI World.” Request your place at this keynote event, and find out more about learning to lead with AI! https://lnkd.in/e-2jEiFM

Our Duke CE London office took a deep dive into Deep Tech with an event featuring Aaron "Ronnie" Chatterji, Ph.D., distinguished professor at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. A big thank you to Professor Chatterji and all our partners who attended this compelling conversation, reminding us of the critical work to be done through education. Professor Chatterji shared that while deep tech has become highly specialized, the vast amount of knowledge required can make it feel like there’s little room for “renaissance” leaders. This specialization risks creating silos, which is why Duke CE’s mission to develop strong team leaders and smart individuals is so essential. He also emphasized the University's crucial role in fostering trust and enabling global collaboration in a world facing geopolitical barriers. Uniting forces across academia, business, and society is critical to addressing humanity’s biggest challenges, such as the sustainability transition, while driving innovation through the latest technologies. Director of Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E), Jamie N Jones, led an insightful full-day session at Duke Corporate Education. Participants reflected on how innovation is not limited to scientific areas but thrives at the intersections of industries, business lines, and areas of expertise, driven by delivering value to customers. The session highlighted that #innovation is about #culture, which is shaped by leaders' behaviors and decisions. Building an innovative culture requires constant, intentional effort to avoid stagnation. Leaders examined their own discovery versus delivery trends and committed to fostering a culture where innovation can flourish, enhancing growth and value.
