Kenneth Mallari, a flight nurse in Rosebud, South Dakota, considers Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month important in his current role in EMS because he believes it is vital to highlight underserved communities in the United States who need higher levels of care. His dream after becoming a nurse was to become a flight nurse, and he achieved his goal through hard work. He loves proudly representing his culture and the diligence instilled in him has led him to be the successful flight nurse he is today.
