About us
The Hawai'i State Department of Education employs about 22,000 full-time employees (including teachers, librarians, counselors, educational officers, support staff and more). We seek talented, skilled, credentialed and enthusiastic employees who will help deliver on the promise of the Department's Strategic Plan. There are job opportunities on the main populated islands: Oahu, Hawaii, Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Kauai. For teachers, the greatest demand occurs on the neighbor islands and in the more rural areas of Oahu, away from Honolulu.

ICYMI: HIDOE school sites partner with community food banks and pantries to provide wraparound food services throughout the summer at 50 locations statewide. Not only are keiki being served breakfast and lunch at select schools through the summer food service program, but their families can receive food distribution as well. Mahalo to our community partners such as the Hawaii Island Food Bank who ensure our island keiki and their ʻohana have full bellies all year around. Our hearts are full!
