Taking a moment to celebrate our partner Oncology Care Partners (OCP) and the launch of their medically integrated dispensing program in both Arizona and Florida! This milestone exemplifies their commitment to patient-centric care by ensuring affordable and easy access to specialty oncology medications right in the doctor's office. As a value-based cancer care provider, OCP leadership recognized the importance of including medically integrated dispensing as part of their core services from the beginning. A big thanks to entire team at OCP for making this possible!

Embedding specialty pharmacists within care teams not only reduces the workload burden on providers, but also significantly improves patient outcomes. Why is this the case? Well, take a look at two recent studies demonstrating the impact of having a dedicated specialty pharmacist working closely with care teams: 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗔 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 A study published in Specialty Pharmacy Continuum found that adding a specialty pharmacist to the care team within dermatology clinics accelerated prior authorization submission by an average of 𝟭𝟭.𝟵 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀. Further, specialty pharmacists boosted treatment initiations by 𝟭𝟳% (77% vs. 94%). Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eKyqW3wu 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗔 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀   Our own House Rx team member, Jessica Fiant, PharmD, CSP recently published a study for the Pharmacy Quality Alliance showing that embedded specialty pharmacists were able to overturn initial PA denials an impressive 𝟴𝟯.𝟳% of the time. Without the appeals process, patients are at risk of delayed treatment initiation or even treatment abandonment. See the poster here: https://lnkd.in/eYkmsUjC

Yesterday’s All Hands meeting was more than a monthly catch-up; it was a celebration of our third year challenging the status quo in the world of #specialty #pharmacy. A lot happens in the course of 3 years at a startup. And while there’s an urge to summarize the last 36 months into a slide with our most impressive stats, we decided it would be more meaningful to hear from the people who have built this “house” — so we asked our employees to share their favorite memory from working at House Rx. The past 3 years at House Rx have been defined by moments of success, moments when we were challenged, moments where we learned something that helped us chart a more productive path, moments when we had to be incredibly scrappy as a small team, and moments when we laughed together. All of these memories were driven by the incredible people we’ve surrounded this company with: our employees, our patients, our customers, our investors, our partners, and more. House Rx wouldn’t be where it is today without you! Hear from a few of our team members about what it means to work at House Rx, and if you're compelled to join us, we encourage you to check out our open roles! In the meantime, we can’t wait to see what year 4 brings! :)

The widespread requirement of prior authorizations for medications in #rheumatology and #oncology places a significant burden on providers, often leading to delayed care and, in some cases, causing patients to abandon their prescribed therapies. According to the 2022 American Medical Association prior authorization (PA) physician survey, 80% of physicians report that PA leads to some form of treatment abandonment. Jessica Fiant, PharmD, CSP, one of our pharmacists at House Rx, analyzed real world data from 17 specialty practices to evaluate the impact of adding a trained and dedicated specialty pharmacist to medically integrated dispensing teams on appeal approval rates. The good news? Over 80% of PA appeals were approved! This reinforces the importance of understanding and leveraging the appeals process within PA protocols. Learn more about this study at the 2024 Pharmacy Quality Alliance Annual Meeting May 14-16 in #Baltimore.
