ISS-Corporate is pleased to have collaborated with Krungthai Bank in reviewing its Green Financing Framework. This framework highlights Krungthai's strong commitment to transparency and sets a benchmark for Thai commercial banks in Green and Sustainable Finance. The Green Financing Framework aligns with the Green Bond Principles (GBP), administered by the ICMA - International Capital Market Association (as of June 2021 with the June 2022 Appendix 1), and the Green Loan Principles (GLP), administered by the Loan Market Association (LMA), Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA), and Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA) (as of February 2023). The Framework enables Krungthai Bank to finance eight main green categories, including Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Pollution Prevention and Control, Terrestrial and Aquatic Biodiversity Conservation, Clean Transportation, Green Technology, Sustainable Water and Wastewater Management, and Green Buildings. The World Health Organization projects that the proportion of the world’s population that is over 60 will nearly double from 12 percent to 22 percent by 2050. Corporate transparency regarding political contributions and lobbying activities have become a key topic of engagement between investors and companies in recent years. With corporate political spending under heightened scrutiny during an election year, ISS-Corporate examined 2024 data on U.S. public companies’ disclosures of political contributions and lobbying. Key findings from the June 2024 analysis include: 💡 Large-cap companies, as represented by the S&P 500, disclose their political contributions at a significantly higher rate compared smaller companies. 💡 Likewise, larger companies were more likely to disclose involvement in lobbying activities by a significant margin compared to mid-cap and small-cap firms. 💡 Among companies that were involved in lobbying activities, the Utilities sector had the highest percentage of companies disclosing objectives related to their political advocacy. #DataInFocus #CorporateLobbying #CorporatePoliticalSpending

NEW: Second Party Opinion (SPO) issued for Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH (Salzgitter) ISS-Corporate is pleased to have worked with Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, the largest steel subsidiary of the Salzgitter Group, in furtherance of launching its Green Loan. The Green Loan is financing the commissioning of an electric arc furnace and the supply and construction of a direct reduction plant to reduce CO₂ emissions in steel production by over 95%. As a result, around 1% of Germany’s CO₂ emissions will be avoided.
