This week, JCB broke ground on its newest North American manufacturing facility in San Antonio, TX. The 720,000 sq. ft. facility, which sits on 400 acres, represents a $500 million investment by the company and will be our second-largest factory in the world. The factory will produce telehandlers and access equipment for the North American market, and we plan to add 1,500 team members to the JCB family over the first five years. On hand for the ceremony were JCB Chairman Lord Bamford and Alice Bamford, JCB Executives, Texas State, Bexar County and City of San Antonio officials and community members. The ceremony was an exciting way to celebrate joining the San Antonio community officially and we look forward to our continued partnership with the entire state of Texas. Building. Feeding. Defending North America. 🇺🇸 🇨🇦
About us
In 1945, Joseph Cyril Bamford founded JCB with the goal of producing the best, most innovative machines on the market while staying true to the needs of the customer. Sixty years and countless innovations later, JCB has grown to become the third largest heavy equipment manufacturer in the world. And because we are still a family owned company, our dedication to the customer remains a top priority. In fact, we strive to make you feel as if you are part of our family – from the first time you step into one of our dealerships. We answer to our customers, not a group of shareholders. That freedom allows us to concentrate on developing the latest technologies and incorporating them into our equipment. We focus on what you need on the jobsite – a machine that holds up in the toughest environment and increases your productivity. At JCB, we stand behind our products – and our name. Located alongside I-95 in Savannah, Georgia, our North American Headquarters is ideally situated to serve our customer base. This 500,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility was built in 2000 to serve as a manufacturing showcase featuring the latest in lean production processes and manufacturing technology. We are proud to have established a base in the U.S. and we are even more proud to build the World's Safest Skid Steer in America.
