Options for independence
About us
At LifePath, we listen first, and then help each person find the best options for their unique needs. We help elders and persons with disabilities maintain independence and quality of life in their own homes and communities. We help busy caregivers to find relief and help loved ones to choose the right path. As we have been for over 40 years, we’ll be there offering options for independence. We welcome all people regardless of race, physical appearance and ability, sex, age, nationality and ancestry, class, religious and political beliefs, marital status, sexual orientation, and gender identity. LifePath, a private, non-profit organization, serves Franklin County plus Athol, Petersham, Phillipston, and Royalston in Worcester County in Massachusetts. Additionally, Adult Family Care, Personal Care Attendant, and SHINE serve Hampshire County and parts or all of Hampden County, and Elder Protective Services and Personal Care Attendant serve Berkshire County. LifePath, Inc., is an Area Agency on Aging and Aging Services Access Point, funded in part by the federal Older Americans Act, Executive Office of Elder Affairs, MassHealth Office of Long-Term Care, United Way of Franklin County, and other sources both public and private. LifePath is operated by a local volunteer Board of Directors, a majority of who are, by law, elders. As an AA/EOE employer, LifePath does not discriminate in program admissions, access, services, or employment practices.

📣 Celebrating Community and Advocacy at the State House! 📣 We are thrilled to share the highlights from a visit to the State House by Western Mass organizations organized by Greenfield Savings Bank (GSB) last week. Starting the day with a guided tour, we had the honor of being accompanied by dedicated legislators, including Rep. Blais and Sen. Comerford. (If you've never visited the MA State House, we highly recommend stopping in and seeing if Gabriel is available for a tour!) We felt so warmly welcomed. The experience culminated in a powerful Pride Flag Raising event with Gov. Healey, symbolizing unity and progress. Our group had the unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with Attorney General Andrea Campbell and other key policymakers. These conversations were insightful, covering the critical legislative issues that impact our community in Western MA. A special thank you to: Senator Jo Comerford and Representative Natalie M. Blais for their warm hospitality and advocacy. Attorney General Andrea Campbell for an enlightening meeting. Gov. Healey for leading the Pride Flag Raising ceremony. The dedicated GSB team, especially Tara T. Brewster, for their meticulous planning and coordination. Lynne Feldman, Director of Community Services at LifePath, represented us and shared the special photo of her and Gina Govoni, Executive Director of Franklin County Regional Housing and Redevelopment Authority, on the third-floor verandah overlooking the Boston Common. It's not often that a busload of Western Mass changemakers and leaders get to descend upon the seat of power and return the favor to our lawmakers for their many trips down Route 2 week in and week out. We are immensely grateful for the chance to connect with so many passionate individuals who are dedicated to making a difference. The day's events underscored the power of community and the importance of our voices in the legislative process. #CommunityEngagement #Advocacy #PrideFlagRaising #WesternMA #StateHouseVisit #GreenfieldSavingsBank #PublicPolicy #GSB #MakingADifference

A recent study from the LTSS Center showed that adults receiving some support from paid caregivers felt more mastery over their lives than those receiving support from only family or friends. https://lnkd.in/gjQybGYw

Join us for the Franklin County Pride Parade and Rally on June 15 in Greenfield, MA! If you are interested in joining Rainbow Elders, LifePath staff/volunteers, friends, and families, please meet us at 11 a.m. at the Greenfield Middle School parking lot (195 Federal Street). We will have a decorated vehicle and will be marching behind a beautiful new banner. We will march from the middle school to Energy Park on Miles Street. The march is just under a mile. The parade steps off at noon and there will be a rally with booths and entertainment at Energy Park. We hope you will join us to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and our community, which has been largely supportive for many years. While homophobia and transphobia have been rampant country wide, we have the opportunity to show visible support for the community and have a good time in the process! #PRIDE #LGBTQIA #OlderAdults LifePath
