📢 Incoming Employee Spotlight! Meet Diana Lara, Maiker's director of housing programs. Diana has been with Maiker since 2013 and currently oversees a team of 11. Diana’s lived experience as an immigrant has ignited her passion to make a difference in the community. She thrives when helping Adams County residents find homes so they can start building a life with a strong foundation. Thank you for all that you do for our community members and Maikers, Diana! 💚

On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the enslaved Black people in the state were free. Today, we honor and recognize this historic day as Juneteenth, which is now a federal holiday. We encourage our Maikers to take this day to reflect on and educate ourselves on the importance of equality. 💚

Last week, our Family Community and Vitality team organized a resource fair at Creekside Place. We'd like to extend a very special thank you to our partners for attending and sharing your resources with our members, Growing Home, Inc., A Precious Child, JOYFUL JOURNEYS COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT, Thrive Kaiser Permanente, Smart Commute, Food Bank of the Rockies, SNAP2Jobs, City of Thornton, Colorado, Benefits in Action and Adams County Government! Our community is stronger because of the work you do. 💚

Last week, our team spent the day at various communities gardening and landscaping. 👩🌾 We'd like to extend a very special thank you to our Maikers who came out to celebrate our day of service! Our communities look wonderful thanks to your hard work. 💚

Today we're celebrating 50 years of Maiker Housing Partners. 💚 Over the last 50 years, we've changed our name, grown our team, celebrated grand openings and groundbreakings, and supported Adams County residents. We are grateful for our partners, Maikers and community members. Thank you for your support, this milestone wouldn't be possible without you.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈 As a member-centered organization, Maiker is committed to fostering environments where all our members feel safe and welcome. This month and every month, we are proud to support the LGBTQIA+ community! 💚

At Maiker, we firmly believe in creating a space where everyone belongs. This belief not only applies to our members but extends to Maikers alike. As a result, we created the Employee Advisory Committee (EAC) to create a unified front, promote cross-department collaboration, and most importantly, create a space where employees’ voices are heard. Did you know that Caraway used to be the former Adams County Children and Family Services building? Caraway opened in 2022 and was Maiker's first adaptive reuse project. To honor the history of the building, twelve of the units at Caraway are reserved for youth aging out of foster care.
