Since then she has served on our board and volunteered on dozens of wishes with friends, her husband and her daughter! Teresa shared one of her favorite memories over the years, " Being a wish-granting volunteer and seeing the direct impact of what we do here. ⭐STAFF ANNIVERSARY! ⭐ Happy FOURTEENTH Anniversary to our Senior Volunteer Manager, Juli! Juli's favorite part about working for Make-A-Wish is the community.“I love the staff, volunteers, wish families and everyone else that contributes to wishes. It is fulfilling and magical and fun to all come together to bring joy to a child and family.” In honor of her 14 years of dedication, Juli reminisced about the first wish she participated in: a wish to be a pirate. 🌊🏴☠️ “We partnered with a ton of community members/groups, including the Seafair Pirates. It was an incredibly public wish and very touching as this boy got to dig for a buried treasure on Alki, have ice cream sundaes with the Seafair Pirates at Dukes on Alki and then got to ride on their ship for Seafair events, including storming the beach on Alki,” shared Juli. “His wish altered his life in such a profoundly positive way that today, 14 years later, that feeling of being an observer of this magic is still with me." The day unfolded with gray sky and light drizzle – typical of Washington in April. But this was not a typical day for Cameron. For the past year, “typical” meant staying indoors, wondering when his next hospital poke would be and talking with only his mom, dad, and stuffie pal, Clucks. But on this magical spring morning, Cameron stepped outside, sans a mask, for the first time in a year – eyes wide with excitement. Large construction trucks rolled in. His wish was happening!
