It’s National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, another time for us to reflect on the specific mental health challenges racial and ethnic minorities face, and pledge action to overcome the obstacles they encounter to receiving care. According to the FDA Office of Women’s Health, those include less access to treatment and stigma, among others. As a health system guided by the principles of compassion, dignity and respect, and which cares for people of all backgrounds, we continue to find ways to close gaps in care and improve health equity.
