Teachers gathered to learn and grow together by participating in the NAAE Teacher Resiliency workshop, inquiry workshops, and specialty course-specific workshops. Special guests included Dr. Alphonse Avitabile, a renowned beekeeper, bee researcher, and Professor Emeritus of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Connecticut, Waterbury. Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in Connecticut industry tours tailored to their interests and courses, aiming to foster boundless classrooms and limitless learning experiences for their students. #TeachAg

  • In 2023, the NAAE Professional State Award application was updated to showcase how state associations are working to serve their membership through advocacy in agricultural education, member experience, professional development and teacher recruitment, retention, and recognition. We would like to highlight the Mississippi Association of Agricultural Educators (MSAAE) as the recipient of the 2023 NAAE State of Distinction Award in Advocacy for Agricultural Education. MSAAE worked to promote the profession of teaching agriculture to internal and external audiences through the MSAAE Legislative Advocacy Luncheon and Legislative Show-Down. The event allowed for students and agricultural educators to formally meet with legislators face-to-face and express gratitude and well as concerns. There were approximately 40 legislators in attendance that allowed for agricultural educators and students plenty of time to make connections and promote agricultural education as well as learn about how support for CTE is determined on the state level. Congratulations to the MSAAE on a great event that truly is making a difference in your state. #TeachAg

  • “It’s a people business. When you walk in every day, you make the conscious choice to be there for students. As you develop those relationships, that’s when you get to make an impact that can really last a lifetime.” -Katie Ranck, Agricultural Educator at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, Pennsylvania. • Hey NAAE members! Our Wise and Well Wednesday tip for today is to streamline a lesson plan, lab, or activity in your classroom. Here are a few ideas to get you started: 1️⃣ Focus on clarity: Streamline lessons to emphasize clear learning objectives and essential skills. 2️⃣ Opt for meaningful activities: Choose activities that foster deep learning and engagement, rather than overwhelming with complexity. 3️⃣ Use technology: Using tools like auto-grading and online simulations can save agricultural educators time, energy, and money. 4️⃣ Collaborate and delegate: Share ideas and tasks with colleagues, parents, and supporters to lighten the load and create a supportive teaching community. By streamlining, we can create a positive impact on both our students and ourselves. How do you simplify your lesson planning for a healthier teaching experience? Share your tips below! 📚💡 #TeacherWellness #TeachAg

  • Here we go! The 2024 National Agriscience Teacher Ambassador Academy kicks off today in Lexington, Kentucky! For more than 20 years, NATAA has successfully cultivated agriscience and inquiry-based learning in agricultural education. The Academy serves to train agriculture teachers on how to enhance the science that is already present in agriculture, as well as develop students as problem solvers and thinkers through the inquiry-based teaching method. Corteva Agriscience puts science to work as a proud sponsor of the National Agriscience Teacher Ambassador Academy (NATAA). Lab-Aids a valuable partner providing curriculum, materials, and training support during this event. #TeachAg
