About us
**IMPORTANT NOTE - PLEASE APPLY FOR ALL POSITIONS THROUGH OUR POSTS, NOT THROUGH THE LINKEDIN-GENERATED JOBS. Nebraska Children’s mission is to create positive change for children through community engagement. Working with local, state, and national partners, Nebraska Children cultivates the good life for all of our children, from cradle to career. We envision a Nebraska where all children have the resources and support needed to realize their full potential. Nebraska Children and Families Foundation has a unique approach to solving large, complex social issues that affect our state’s children. It’s based on two core beliefs: 1. Prevention works. It’s the most effective and fiscally responsible approach for addressing complex social problems. 2. Channeling a community’s existing resources toward a common goal will maximize their effectiveness. Every initiative we undertake aligns with these principles. Our programs are preventive in nature, designed to keep children out of the welfare and criminal justice systems from birth through age 24. And our approach encompasses all the resources a community has to offer, helping to ensure community ownership of the process and outcomes. The end goal is to prepare all of Nebraska’s children for success in school and in life.

🎉 Celebrate #SummerLearningWeek, July 15-19! 🌟 It is a week of celebration as we highlight how Nebraska's summer programs are keeping kids engaged, safe, and healthy. These programs set them up for success when they return to school this fall and give them opportunities to explore subjects not always covered during the school year. Plus, they offer a place to have FUN!🎈 ❤️ This week we encourage you to reach out to the programs in your communities and thank them for investing in Nebraska's children. 📚✨ Building a Literacy Community at Educare Indian Hill: Celebrating the Power of Storytelling ✨📚 At Educare Omaha at Indian Hill, something magical happens when parents and children see themselves in the pages of a book. Janelle Nissen, Director of Educare Indian Hill, describes the touching moments during the Eating at Educare book-signing event, where families connected deeply with the story crafted by their own cook, Miss Belinda, and author Laura Cady. "Watching parents and children recognize themselves in the book was truly magical," Nissen recalls. Join us in celebrating the power of community-building through literacy at Educare Indian Hill. Together, we're making a lasting impact on the lives of children and families in South Omaha and beyond. 🔗 Read more about the journey on our blog, Growing the Good Life: https://bit.ly/4cDdNpe #LiteracyCommunity #NebraskaGrowingReaders #EducareIndianHill #FamilyEngagement #CommunityImpact

Our hearts ache for the Crete family, victims of a tragic mass shooting. Although their names remain private, they have been a valued part of Nebraska Children and Families Foundation’s Sixpence early learning program. Our staff has worked closely with them, and this news hits us hard. We hope this senseless act of violence can inspire us to come together in love and support. To assist with their medical expenses, please consider contributing to their GoFundMe, https://bit.ly/4bu9tYe.
