Complex housing can't happen in a silo. It takes community and collaboration. Thank you, Robert J. Ford, for spending the time with our NewCourtland team at The Tower at Henry Avenue! We look forward to ongoing conversations! #inclusivehousing #housingwithsupportiveservices #affordablehousing #housingandhealthequity

Building collaborations with like-minded organizations whose mission is to support housing and health equity for an underserved population

We had a wonderful time today touring Robert J. Ford, Field Office Director for Eastern and Central PA, Philadelphia Regional Office at HUD, Housing & Urban Development Department at NewCourtland 's first inclusive housing property on Henry Ave which will will consist of low-income seniors, people with disabilities served through Inglis, young professionals, families and empty nesters- creating an equitable housing environment and a true community. He was also excited to hear more about our permanent supportive housing in NE Philly for formerly homeless individuals many of which are veterans. NewCourtland is positioning itself as leaders and experts of quality affordable community housing with supportive services for medically complex and senior residents. We look forward to our next visit from Robert. What a nice guy! Bob Theil

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dave Stouber and Skip Kauffman with Aardvark for their generous sponsorship. Their support made it possible for ten residents from the Apartments at Allegheny to visit SIGHT AND SOUND MINISTRIES, INC. DBA SIGHT AND SOUND THEATRES through our Pastoral Care network trip (Rev. Jennell M.). Dave was conducting a routine check-in at the Allegheny apartments when he saw the advertisement about our upcoming trip.  The trip included lunch at Shady Maple Smorgasbord and a ticket to see Daniel, one of the Bible’s most powerful stories. Everyone had a fantastic time fellowshipping with one another. Dave and Skip, thank you for investing in our seniors' spiritual health and well-being.

"Today marks 40 years since I began my career in gerontological research. Many people have supported me along the way, and I am indebted to them all. I especially want to thank the scientists who supervised me – M. Powell Lawton, Elaine, Brody, Madlyn, Iris, and Ashley Z. Ritter, from whom I have learned so much about the real meaning of our work. I owe a very special note of thanks to all the clinicians and direct care workers at Philadelphia Geriatric Center, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, NewCourtland, and the network of agencies that directly serve older persons. All my good ideas in research emerged from insights offered by these professionals. It has been a joy and an honor, and I hope to continue contributing to our common efforts for many years to come."  Allen Glicksman, Ph.D., Embedded Scientist Research Department Anyone who has had the opportunity to know or work with Allen Glicksman knows his contributions to his work have been invaluable, and his positive impact is felt by all. His journey has been filled with amazing moments and achievements, and we're so excited to celebrate this huge milestone. Please congratulate him on 40 years of service!

Tower at Henry Ave is an inclusive housing model that ties the creation of apartments for low- or moderate-income households to the construction of market-rate residential development. This community will offer high-quality amenities like bicycle and other storage options, package drop-off and pick-up, a coffee shop, an ADA-accessible gym, outdoor space with a walking trail, community garden, dog park, roof terrace, community rooms/gathering spaces, and ample parking. “This property is a unique model of housing to address the community needs,” says Joe Duffey, CEO and President of NewCourtland. “We believe components of this model can help address the shortage of appropriate housing and resident displacement.”
