"Racial and ethnic inequities in health care are found in every state in the U.S. despite the passage of legislation intended to improve health outcomes for minorities and increased awareness of health care disparities over the past two decades."    When providers reflect the languages and backgrounds of the diverse communities they serve, patients from minority populations receive more effective long-term care. We believe there are no better voices to illuminate the needs of Washington’s homeless population than those who have experienced homelessness directly. Commerce’s Homelessness Assistance Unit seeks to strengthen the assistance programs we manage by recruiting people with lived experience of homelessness to serve on a new advisory committee.
