Last Saturday, Ogletree Deakins' Black Attorney Affinity Group (ODBAR) hosted their seventh annual ODBAR BBQ in Philadelphia. The event brought together many Ogletree clients and attorneys for fellowship, dancing, and great food. During the event, the firm presented our 2024 David E. Jones Scholarship to Ruth Woldemichael, a rising 3L at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. Of 37 entries for the scholarship, her essay on the best practices for governing the use of AI in employment decisions rose to the top. Hear from Ruth: "I am so humbled and grateful to receive the David E. Jones Scholarship. This award is instrumental in lessening the cost of my legal education. I love law school and I am excited to make the most of my final year with the encouragement and motivation this scholarship gifted me." Congratulations, Ruth! We are already looking forward to next year. #ODProud
