ODJFS’s Lindsay Boyd Named Ohio State Fair’s Poster Grand Champion. Like any good parent who tries to balance their child’s dreams with real life, Lindsay Boyd’s mom had a simple rule: Pursue your artistic passion, but you better have a stable career that can support you too. https://lnkd.in/g_-HRJrm

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife is asking the public to report sightings of wild turkeys and ruffed grouse this summer for its annual population surveys. Community scientists, which can be anyone in the public, are encouraged to submit observations on the Wildlife Reporting System webpage at wildohio.gov or on the HuntFish OH mobile app. Wildlife biologists use public sighting reports of wild turkeys and ruffed grouse observed in July and August to estimate population statuses and reproductive success. It’s important to note female turkeys and their young are most active during the summer. https://lnkd.in/gBrxQjnq

The State of Ohio’s job listing site Careers.Ohio.gov got a makeover thanks to our State Human Resources Division’s Statewide Talent Acquisition and Applications and Reporting teams. The user-friendly portal has a new look, including highlighted skills on the homepage and easier-to-read job postings. A new feature allows external applicants to apply without creating an account. Applicants who opt to “apply as a guest” will receive email reminders to create their account at a later time to check the status of their application. Job postings also are more reader-friendly. https://careers.ohio.gov/

It’s summertime! Which means going to potlucks and cooking your favorite dish to bring over to your family and friends. While potlucks are fun, it’s important to keep in mind that practicing proper food safety is crucial for not only restaurants and factories, but consumers as well.
