We serve children and families throughout Texas, Missouri and Louisiana through twelve core programs: Foster Care & Adoption (TX), Foster Care & Medical Case Management (MO), Itasca Foster Care Village & Education Program (TX), Elevate Mentoring (TX, MO), Transitional Living - Adults (TX, MO), Transitional Living Group Homes & Scattered Site Apartments (MO), Youth Outreach (MO), Child and Family (TX, MO, LA), Counseling Centers at PCHAS (TX, MO), Family Solutions for Kids (MO), Single Parent Family (TX, MO) and Growing Together (TX). What a wonderful day in Springfield💚💜 Yesterday, the CFO, in partnership with the Jeannette L. Musgrave Foundation and US Bank Private Wealth Management, presented grants totaling $1,165,923. These grants comprise three high-impact, multi-year grant programs and support for nonprofit capital projects in the Springfield metro area. We're so proud to help support these organizations and their essential missions. The grant recipients and first-year amounts for the “Opportunities to Thrive” program are: • Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield: $70,000 • The GLO Center: $55,000 • Ozarks Food Harvest: $131,122 • Ozarks Literacy Council: $36,432 • SPRINGFIELD COMMUNITY GARDENS: $19,924 If all agencies meet annual grant renewal guidelines, the total grant awards will exceed $556,000 over the three-year period. The grant recipients and second-year amounts for the “Student Citizenship” program are: • HISTORY MUSEUM ON THE SQUARE INC: $70,000 • Leadership Springfield: $62,000 • Springfield Daily Citizen: $25,000 • OTC Foundation is part of the “Student Citizenship” cohort, having received $35,975 in 2023 to expand Ozarks Technical Community College’s student-run, nonpartisan Politically Active program. If all agencies meet annual grant renewal guidelines, the total grant awards will exceed $539,000 when the final grants are presented next year. The grant recipients and final-year amounts for the “Foster Families” program are: • Council of Churches of the Ozarks: $50,000 • FosterAdopt Connect: $50,000 • KVC Missouri (formerly Great Circle): $50,000 • St. John’s Chapel United Church of Christ: $39,800 • CASA of Southwest Missouri also is part of the “Foster Families” cohort, having received $108,805 in the first two years of the program to support the addition of an advocate supervisor. Total grant awards for all three programs could ultimately exceed $1.8 million. As graduation season approaches, we want to highlight Brianna's inspiring story. 🎓 Brianna was raised in a complicated household marked by substance abuse and domestic violence. Despite the turmoil, she found solace in the church, where her grandmother would often take her and her sister. As she navigated the complexities of her upbringing, she refused to succumb to the cycle of trauma that plagued her family for generations. “I am not a victim of my circumstance. I know how to triumph over what I had to go through,” says Brianna with a smile. As Brianna went on to go to college, she discovered Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services’ Transitional Living for Youth program while on school break. She needed a place to live and had nowhere else to go. In December 2023, Brianna graduated with two associate degrees and a bachelor’s in social work. Despite experiencing the significant loss of her mother and father, you would never guess it from her demeanor. Her radiant smile and resilient spirit overshadow all the pain she has endured.
