Welcome to Daniel Norris as a new member of the team! Daniel is studying Media Arts at Bethany Lutheran College. He is our Communications Media Intern for this summer and we are excited to have him aboard! 

Getting to know the Senators and State Representatives who you count on to govern is a huge deal! This week an active crew from Prairie Senior Cottages went to the Day at the Capital event with LeadingAge Minnesota to do just that. A list of common sense topics were discussed: 1) Raise caregiver wages to increase access to care for Seniors 2) Regulatory adjustments like allowing LPNs to do assessments 3) Remove workforce barriers to open up training options and offer the CNA testing in different languages 4) Update wage data benchmarks for Elderly Waiver rates thereby making sure reimbursements keep up with costs. Melanie’s certifications as a CNA and TMA reflect her expertise and dedication to providing high-quality care. What sets Melanie apart is her genuine enthusiasm for understanding each resident and improving their quality of life. Her commitment to creating a safe and welcoming space for all aligns perfectly with our philosophy at Prairie Senior Cottages. Additionally, Melanie brings a deep sense of compassion and a global perspective to our community. Her dream of traveling to assist the less fortunate in third-world countries highlights her caring nature and generous spirit. We are truly fortunate to have someone with such a kind heart and adventurous soul joining our cottage family. On a personal note, Melanie shares a love for the outdoors with her family, engaging in activities such as hiking, fishing, and swimming. This shared interest emphasizes the importance of creating meaningful connections and moments of joy. We are grateful to our existing staff and coworkers for their warm welcome and collaborative spirit. Transitioning from being a stay-at-home mom to becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) while completing nursing school reflects her commitment to making a difference. Stacy's time working in various healthcare settings has equipped her with a deep understanding of the diverse needs of the individuals she serves.
