Cheers to weekend energy every day of the week! Today, we officially welcomed Utopia of the Seas to our fleet – the first of our game-changing Oasis Class ships to offer short getaways from Port Canaveral. Our President and CEO Jason Liberty and Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley boarded the ship alongside Utopia’s Godmother, GRAMMY-winning multi-platform artist Meghan Trainor to christen the ship with maritime traditions including the champagne-bottle breaking and bagpipe performance. We are committed to delivering the best vacations responsibly by evolving with our guests and creating the vacations they tell us they want – and Utopia is the embodiment of that promise. Congratulations to all the teams who helped bring this ship to life and turned this dream into a reality.

Day three is a wrap! We had a variety of thought-provoking sessions and workshops today, ranging from emissions to regulations to technological pathways. We closed with our final workshop and our participants enjoyed their afternoon on the beautiful Perfect Day at CocoCay’s Hideaway Beach.     On our quest to SEA the Future, events like this are integral to our industry’s working together to tackle decarbonization and the industry’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. https://lnkd.in/eVCavecv

“Broadening your focus can give you more ideas for innovation and growth.”    Day two of the Maritime Decarbonization Summit has come to a close and the rallying cry of “taking action together” continues. Particpants were immersed in workshops and sessions spanning policy, technology and innovation and inspired by keynote speaker David Robertson, senior lecturer at MIT’s Sloan Business School and author of “Brick by Brick.”   Bringing together such a diverse group of leaders to tackle decarbonization underscores our commitment to SEA the Future. Stay tuned for more of the action.

We are kicking off our Maritime Decarbonization Summit hosted by Royal Caribbean Group in collaboration with the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping on Utopia of the Seas. The Summit will bring shipowners, shipbuilders, and technology and energy providers together to collaborate and advance conversations about technology, future and alternative fuels and policy that bring us closer to net zero. The three-day event will feature keynotes, moderated panels and workshops with key players in the maritime industry. We are convening the best minds to drive forward innovation and accelerate a net zero future. We can’t wait to see what ideas emerge from this week.
