Excited for this achievement. Read more in our new blog post https://samaya.ai/blog! 🚀
Every researcher's path is a rollercoaster filled with numerous lows. However, today I want to share a significant high point in my scientific career. With unspeakable joy, I want to announce that our paper, “Improving Wikipedia Verifiability with AI,” has been published in the prestigious Nature Portfolio. The paper is available with open access here: https://lnkd.in/etmzRpUn This milestone comes after more than 2 years of work, much of it undertaken at the FAIR lab in AI at Meta, alongside amazing collaborators: Samuel Broscheit, Aleksandra Piktus, Patrick Lewis, Gautier Izacard, Lucas Hosseini, Jane Yu, Maria Lomeli, Timo Schick, Michele Bevilacqua, Pierre-Emmanuel Mazaré, Armand Joulin, Edouard Grave and Sebastian Riedel. In this study, we show that machines can assist experts in navigating and verifying complex world knowledge — a reality made feasible by today's AI technology. Dive into the specifics in our latest blog post: https://samaya.ai/blog. Together with the incredible Maithra Raghu, we launched Samaya AI to build those machines. Our mission is to revolutionize the way experts interact with, decipher, and ultimately produce knowledge. Join us in this journey! 🚀

Can Large Language Models effectively use knowledge in their input context? Find out more in our blog post: 'Information Overload: Challenges of Expanding Context Windows in LLMs' from Nelson Liu, Ashwin Paranjape, Michele Bevilacqua, Fabio Petroni and Maithra Raghu. https://samaya.ai/blog Our recent study “Lost in the Middle: How Language Models Use Long Contexts” (https://lnkd.in/eWbgxwpm) finds that language models struggle to reason over their entire input context, which has significant implications for the use of these models in knowledge-rich applications. These findings reveal that, even when presented with random documents as distractors, models still face challenges in reasoning over their input. This underscores the importance of improving LLMs’ abilities to reason over complex external information, and how to effectively use them for knowledge retrieval and discovery. These questions on knowledge and LLMs are central to our work at Samaya AI, where we are building out cutting-edge models to help with knowledge intensive workflows.
