    Whenever I think of class, I think of Hans van der Reijden, his colleagues and the properties they manage through Ithaka Hospitality Partners. I have known Hans for many years and when I had a vacancy for the SmartBank advisory board in Auburn I knew immediately who I wanted to ask first. Hans has long strived to give his guests a great experience at his properties, and it was my hopes to learn from him and to be able to offer our Auburn clients that "wow" experience. I feel very fortunate to have Hans on our team and with his knowledge, experience and drive I know we will do great things together.

    Foothills Community Development Corporation (FCDC), a nonprofit organization in Blount County, TN, recently secured an $800,000 grant to construct four new homes in the area. The grant allows FCDC to build, sell, and reinvest the proceeds into further home construction projects.     Bill Scott was a "must have" when I was organizing our directors' team for SmartBank in Auburn! Bill and I had worked together in this same capacity for 12- years at another bank here in Auburn. During that time together, I had noted that, no one is more dedicated, focused and driven than Bill when he has a task at hand, and I was positive he could help streamline our success in this new market for SmartBank. I was so pleased when Bill said he would join our directors' team and the successes he has helped drive over the past 2.5 years have been nothing short of amazing.
