Founded in 1803, the Social Law Library is a member-managed, dues-supported legal research institution. The Library provides research materials, remote databases, reference, document delivery, training, continuing legal education (CLE). The Library also provides technology and design services that include, website hosting, email, encrypted email, website design, logo design for attorneys, law firms and legal organizations.

    Honorable Dana M. Gershengorn Appointed Chief Justice of the Juvenile Court - Trial Court Chief Justice Heidi E. Brieger announced the appointment of Judge Dana M. Gershengorn as Chief Justice of the Juvenile Court for a five-year term in accordance with G.L. c.211B, §5, effective June 29, 2024. She will succeed Chief Justice Amy L.     Governor Maura Healey delivered a ceremonial administration of the Oath of Office in the Great Hall of the John Adams Courthouse, swearing in the Honorable Gabrielle R. Wolohojian as Associate Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court.     Job Opening at Massachusetts Superior Court https://bit.ly/4bPKKP4 - The Massachusetts Superior Court seeks to fill a Research Attorney I position. The successful candidate will primarily assist judges sitting in Bristol County courthouses (Fall River, New Bedford, Taunton), while remaining available to serve all the Justices of the Superior Court. Although it is preferred that the successful candidate be based in the Fall River Courthouse, other Superior Courthouse locations, including Boston, may be considered. All interested candidates are therefore encouraged to apply, whether residing within or outside of Bristol County. The Research Attorney position is a professional, permanent position within the Administrative Office of the Superior Court. Research Attorneys assist the Justices with legal research, writing, and analysis. Research Attorneys prepare draft decisions, research memoranda, and other documents; analyze and research specific legal issues and questions for the judges; and may assist in training and oversight of other legal research staff and interns. Travel or transfer to other locations may be required according to the needs of the Court. Requirements include a minimum of two years of legal experience, with excellent writing, communication, and legal research skills. Judicial clerkship and/or extensive experience involving a high volume of legal research and writing in the litigation context preferred. Research attorneys must reside in Massachusetts for the duration of their employment. Start date will be as soon as possible. Starting salary is $86,605.33 per year. Employee benefits include subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance, ten days of paid vacation time, and three days of paid personal time per year. The Superior Court recognizes the importance of a work-life balance. After an initial training and trial period, a new Research Attorney may request a hybrid office/remote work schedule, subject to certain conditions and requirements.
