Spartech continues to expand its sustainability focus by announcing that the Floorlite® product line is now being developed with recyclable Post Consumer Resin (PCR). Floorlite® PCR products are made with certified PCR material, manufactured with formulations from 25% to 39% post consumer resin. These durable sheets are lightweight, easily thermoformed, provide a mar resistant surface, and are approved for automotive use in applications such as non-carpet flooring protection. Featuring excellent thermoformability, Floorlite® sheets conform well to automotive flooring contours and comply with automotive dimensional stability demands. The aesthetic value of these sheets also follow automotive standards for color and dimension stability. They are designed to provide resistance to surface staining and discoloration from harsh cleaners and automotive chemicals. #Fleets need sustainable products to help them meet their social and environmental commitments. This is why high-density “foam panels” imported from Asia no longer make sense for today’s box trucks and trailers. HDPE foam is outdated technology that adds unnecessary weight to the load. The extra weight results in higher fuel consumption and emissions (as does shipping overseas). Foam production also relies on the use of harmful gassing agents. Advanced Composites are replacing conventional foam with equal or better performance and cost -- at half the weight. They are produced in the U.S. from recycled and recyclable materials that are domestically sourced, using a closed-loop system that reuses 100% of scrap material.
