Additionally, we are thrilled to have won an Elite Award for Employee Achievement and Recognition - none of this would be possible without our incredible team members! Our day with a talented group of Hamilton students was nothing short of amazing! We opened our doors, shared valuable industry insights, and even treated them to a delicious taste of Big E's - a day we hope they won't forget! Thank you to these bright minds for spending the day with us, eager to learn and grow in this exciting industry!

Join us in celebrating Lisa Woody, our talented bartender at Big E's in Downtown Grand Rapids, for winning the 2023 Safety Award! Lisa is not only one of our most qualified bartenders, but may be our safest. Lisa is all about safety. From something as simple of making sure that the sanitizer water is hot to making sure the temperature of the chemicals in the dishwasher are suitable. She practices safety from sun up to sun down. Cheers to Lisa for her dedication to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone - she truly deserves this recognition!

Let's give a big round of applause to Gary Brower, our exceptional Guest Service Representative at Courtyard in Holland! Gary was the winner of our 2023 Helpful Award. Gary goes the extra mile, learning event details, assisting guests, and even handing out mimosas with a smile. Gary extends hospitality beyond the front desk carrying luggage, clearing snow, and connecting with guests. His commitment to guest satisfaction and his mantra "Do more for others than yourself" makes him the most mentioned name in GSS surveys. Gary's dedication and outstanding service truly shine through, making him an invaluable member of our team.

A special shoutout to Mara Swinkunas, our Guest Service Manager at Hampton Inn in Holland. Mara received our 2023 Leadership Award and was more than deserving of the accomplishment. Whether it be with a team member or guest, Mara shows everyone respect and listens to them fully. She is great at training and coaching to show the team members the Suburban Inns way. With competitions and rewards at the front desk, recently coordinating for the whole team to go out for their own department Christmas party complete with personalized gifts thanks to Hilton for hitting the Hilton Honors enrollments consecutively. We are so thankful to have Mara on our team!

Today we are wishing our Accounting Manager, John Fischer, all the best as he heads off on his new adventure. Thank you for everything you have been for Suburban Inns. Your work ethic and outstanding personality will be missed, greatly. May this next chapter of your story be all you want it to be! 💜

We couldn’t be more proud of our Suburban Inns team and the way they exhibit our Core Values through their work.
