Children witness 68% to 80% of domestic abuse. I am one of those statistics. My mother was a victim of domestic abuse by my stepfather from the ages of 2-20. While I was never verbally or physically abused, I witnessed the abuse inflicted on her. Beginning this summer, I am honored to join the board of the Domestic Violence Action Center Hawaii. By serving my community, I hope to advocate for the children of victims, ensuring they have the support they need to overcome, break the cycle, create safe spaces, and create a better Hawaii for all families. https://lnkd.in/gCqWpUQS
