Stephanie joined The Iowa Clinic OB/GYN department bringing a strong passion for women’s health and an excitement to join a patient-centered clinic focused on providing exceptional care. Her journey into women’s health began in high school working with a nursing mentor, which blossomed into a more than decade’s long career as a labor and delivery nurse. Developing a trusting relationship with her patients and making an impact on both their lives and personal health journey is something Stephanie finds most rewarding. Having previously lived in Chicago, Stephanie is delighted to be back in Des Moines to care for women of central Iowa. Sudeep Gupta, DO joins The Iowa Clinic Downtown Family Medicine department with a passion for providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages. He chose The Iowa Clinic for its collaborative environment and the ability to provide exceptional patient care. Dr. Gupta enjoys the unique opportunity Family Medicine presents to be able to care for patients from infancy through their senior years. The ability to support patients through various health challenges and milestones is something he finds most rewarding about his practice. An Ames, Iowa native, Dr. Gupta completed his medical degree at Des Moines University and has been in medical practice for over 25 years. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf and cheering on Iowa State athletics and the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoys spending time with his kids and wife of 28 years, who he married after knowing her for just three weeks! Dr. Steil brings her passion for patient-focused care and surgical artistry to The Iowa Clinic Plastic Surgery department. With a background in both private practice and academic medicine, Dr. Steil felt that TIC was the best place to focus on providing exceptional patient care within a physician-led organization. As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Steil enjoys the opportunity to work on every part of the body with every type of patient. From intricate facial reconstructions to body enhancements, Dr. Steil finds reward in her work after helping her patients achieve a goal they have longed for. An Iowa native, Dr. Steil attended the University of Iowa for medical school and later completed her residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch. As part of her training in residency, Dr. Steil completed a rotation at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she spent time learning reconstructive surgery. She also spent time at Shriners Burn Institute, where she trained in both acute burns and burn reconstruction in children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, baking, crafting, painting, and sewing. Besides plastic surgery, Dr. Steil might have pursed facial prosthetics to help patients who may have experienced loss due to a traumatic injury or cancer. As a pediatrician, Dr. Michel is passionate about caring for children and developing strong relationships with her patients and their families. As both a mom and doctor, Dr. Michel brings a unique perspective to her practice, understanding parental concerns and striving to provide solid, evidence-based advice to help parents make the best decisions for their families. A lifelong Iowan, Dr. Michel grew up in Dubuque where she pursued her undergraduate at Drake University, and later completed her medical degree and pediatric residency at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Outside of work, Dr. Michel enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys, staying active outdoors, exploring new places, or curling up with a good book.
