Underscoring our commitment to sustainability while integrating with the resort’s natural beauty was a key focus of the Golf House Pinehurst campus plan. It’s why we’re proud to receive the Warren H. Manning Award from the Village of Pinehurst in recognition of spaces in Pinehurst that enhance the village through landscaping. Thanks to Cole Thompson, Jordan Booth, Ph.D., Laurel Brooks, CFM and all the USGA teammates who played a role in the effort.

About us
The USGA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts. To learn more, visit usga.org.

There are 96 players in the field at the U.S. Adaptive Open, yet they represent a small fraction of the adaptive golf community. To help strengthen access to playing opportunities, the USGA hosted an educational workshop in advance of the championship for Allied Golf Associations (AGAs) interested in learning more about what it takes to provide recreational and competitive programs for this incredible community. Covering equipment standards, the Rules of Golf, championship operations and ADA compliance, among other topics, the sessions were led by USGA staff and industry experts.

Golf wasn't on Morris Thomas' radar as a first-generation college graduate. Now, thanks to the Pathways Internship, he's been able to combine his passions for local government and advocacy with his new passion for golf in a career with the SCGA.

Workshops, panels, a little friendly competition and plenty of valuable networking were among the many highlights for the Pathways interns during Deloitte Day this week. The Pathways Internship Program is an immersive, 10-day educational experience providing college and graduate students from a wide range of backgrounds exposure to various career pathways in golf.
