We were thrilled to partner with The NCR Foundation to support the incredible presentations at this year's STEMup Youth Maker Competition. As Yvonne Whitaker, NCR Foundation Director, said, “these ideas are going to make a difference in the community.” Thanks to NCR's additional funding, this year’s winners received the extra support they needed to bring their innovative projects to life! Our collaboration was dedicated to providing opportunities for people in the communities where we work and live. By supporting #STEM initiatives like STEMUp, you help youth from all backgrounds develop skills critical to technological advancement and innovation. This teamwork not only helps cultivate their ideas but also has a positive impact on our community as these students contribute to making Greater Atlanta an even better place to live and thrive. #uniteformore

When children thrive, we all thrive. Join the movement to unlock Greater Atlanta’s potential.
About us
When children thrive, we all thrive. Kids are born with limitless potential. And every child —from McDonough to Marietta, from College Park to Norcross, from Atlanta to Austell—deserves the opportunity to thrive. But in Greater Atlanta, thousands of kids are faced with roadblocks where they should be met with possibilities. When we unite, we can unlock their potential, creating a brighter future, for every community. Our Child Well-Being Index shows that in 79 neighborhoods across our region, child well-being is declining. These neighborhoods are located in every one of Greater Atlanta's 13 counties, and often they're separated by just a few short blocks from the neighborhoods with the most access to opportunity. For the 77,000 youth who call these neighborhoods home, that means that they're facing inequitable barriers to success. They have big dreams—but gaps in opportunities and resources stand in their way of achieving them. These aren’t just numbers. They’re our neighbors. When you join the movement to improve child well-being, you open pathways to opportunity, helping to: - Give more families access to quality early learning programs, so kids become strong learners. - Provide apprenticeship opportunities for youth, equipping them for high-growth careers. - Put college within reach for more families, through academic supports and financial aid access. - Set individuals up for financial stability, through stable housing, access to healthcare and employment opportunities. - Support community-led solutions, so that everyone—regardless of race or zip code—can thrive. Our guiding question is “how are the children?” United, we’re working toward a future where we can respond with “all the children are well.” Join the movement at unitedwayatlanta.org

A huge thank you to Cox Enterprises and all the employees who came together to pack 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies for Boys & Girls Clubs of America students. Your hard work means so much! These backpacks will help kids from elementary to high school get ready for a great school year. Tracye Neal, a mother of three, found a permanent home in 2019 after nearly two years in a hotel, thanks to St. Vincent de Paul Georgia's Motel to Home assistance efforts. Today, she’s the first point of contact for those seeking housing services, offering support, guidance, and resources to help applicants gain stable housing. With economic instability causing record-breaking homelessness and a 50% increase in unsheltered individuals from 2015 to 2023, Tracye's story is just one of many accounts in Greater Atlanta. We're committed to making a difference through our Motel to Home initiative. Amid dual pandemics, local students are in greater need for mental health care. Check out this Georgia Public Broadcasting article to hear how our partner CHRIS 180 has stepped up to provide that care at no cost to students. When you donate, this is the type of work you make possible.

This past weekend, volunteers across Greater Atlanta united for our Day of Action! Through impactful projects like campus beautification, creating cards for veterans, assembling care kits for distribution, and collecting school supplies for the upcoming back-to-school season, we made a lasting difference. Service to our local community is vital—it fosters connections, supports those in need, and builds a brighter future for everyone. Thank you again to everyone who came out and lent a helping hand. Just two months after Tax Day, we’re excited to share the impact of our free VITA tax prep program this year. With $11.2 million in refunds going back to local families, we’re grateful to all the volunteers who made it happen. Their hard work helped families keep more of their money and build wealth. Thank you, Greater Atlanta, for trusting us with your tax preparation needs! #uniteformore

We know that unlocking the potential of Atlanta's students means providing them with opportunities to envision their future possibilities! Our 6th Annual African-American Partnership Day of Service accomplished just that, celebrating community involvement and expanding access to STEAM-related careers. Middle and high school students enjoyed a morning of workshops and mentoring, followed by a career expo on the campus of Atlanta Technical College. AAP members and other corporate volunteers started the day networking and then guided over 100 students through literacy and #STEAM sessions. From interactive booths and creative projects to hands-on experiments and team-building exercises, students were exposed to a wide array of pathways to explore and ignite their passions. Thank you to all the mentors, presenters, students, and sponsors including Delta Air Lines, Atlanta Gas Light, Cox Enterprises, Deluxe, AT&T, and Norfolk Southern.
