  • Russia’s large-scale attacks on Ukrainian cities on July 8th caused extensive damage and tragic loss of life. We are proud of the social responsibility and assistance demonstrated by USUBC members in response to this tragedy.   • 🇺🇦 President of Ukraine Met with Representatives of American Defense Companies On 11 July 2024, at the Embassy of Ukraine to the United States, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with top executives of leading American defense companies, including prominent USUBC members - AeroVironment, Amentum, BAE Systems, Boeing, Day & Zimmermann, D&M Holding Company , General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and RTX. This meeting continues the vital dialogue initiated in Washington last December, emphasizing the significant contributions these companies have made towards Ukraine’s defense efforts. President Zelenskyy expressed profound gratitude for their support, which has been instrumental in defending Ukraine's freedom, democracy, and the safety of its people. Highlighting the importance of international cooperation, he invited American defense companies to expand their operations in Ukraine, fostering joint defense production and maintenance initiatives. A key highlight was the signing of an agreement between JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry and Northrop Grumman to establish a medium-caliber ammunition production facility in Ukraine, adhering to NATO standards. This collaboration signifies a robust partnership aimed at enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities and further solidifying the strategic alliance between Ukraine and leading American defense companies. By strengthening ties and exploring new avenues for joint production and technological advancements, USUBC member-companies are playing a crucial role in fortifying Ukraine’s defense infrastructure.   • 🏗 Accordbank had donated UAH 1 mln to Okhmatdyt hospital rebuilding Our new member Accordbank immediately reacted and donated UAH 1 mln for the emergency aid to national children`s hospital "Okhmatdyt" in Kyiv, which was destroyed by Russian missile fire on July 8. During massive missile attack Russia once again committed crime against the civilian population. The rockets have destroyed residential buildings and offices, a maternity hospital in Kyiv, as well as many facilities in Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih. Besides, during the same missile attack one Accordbank`s branch in Kyiv was seriously damaged. Therefore, as a response to such aggression and in addition to stable assistance to Armed Forces Accordbank has decided to help Children`s Hospital Okhmatdyt to rebuild. The largest Children's Hospital in Ukraine will needs significant financial resources for the immediate restoration of surgical and oncology departments, intensive care units, toxicology and intensive care units, as well as the only oncology hematology laboratory in Ukraine. 📌 You can also help the hospital financially via the following links: https://lnkd.in/dkfqaKaM https://lnkd.in/emu2c9N3

Based in Washington, D.C., Matheus International’s founder has completed over five hundred transactions across 80+ emerging markets, totaling over $50 billion. Mr. Matheus worked for the Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the US Government’s development financing vehicle for 27 years where he held the positions of Head of the Finance Dept. which mostly focused on infrastructure investments, Chief Risk Officer, Chaired DFC’s Credit Committee and headed the financial institutions team which oversaw a $7 billion portfolio. Prior to DFC Mr. Matheus worked in investment banking in New York City for ten years.   • ❕ Irina Paliashvili was appointed Acting Presinent of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC). Following the recent passing of Morgan Williams, President and CEO of USUBC, the Executive Committee of USUBC unanimously voted on Friday, June 21, 2024, to appoint Irina Paliashvili, a member of the Executive Committee, as Acting President to fulfill the remaining term of the current presidency. She will begin her tenure on July 1, 2024, and serve through the end of the 2024 calendar year. Irina Paliashvili has been an integral part of the USUBC governance team, having been consistently reelected to the Executive Committee by USUBC members for more than twenty years. She also serves as Chair of the USUBC Legal Committee, supporting legal and judicial reforms, advocating for the rule of law, and promoting private sector development.   • 🇺🇦🇺🇸 USUBC hosted a Business Leaders Meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget A. Brink The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) held a Business Leaders Meeting with Bridget A. Brink, the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine. USUBC members had the opportunity to discuss critical issues and strengthen ties between U.S. and Ukrainian businesses, exploring opportunities for American investment in Ukraine even amidst the ongoing war with Russia. Ambassador Brink began by expressing heartfelt condolences on the passing of Morgan Williams, President and CEO of the USUBC, who was a dedicated advocate for the U.S.-Ukraine relations. The panel with Ambassador Brink was moderated by Greg Fishman JD, USUBC Secretary & Treasurer and Regional Representative for Ukraine and Eastern Europe at Abt Global. USUBC appreciates Ukrainian Armor, a distinguished member, for their partnership and support for this event. Special thanks to Vladislav Belbas, CEO, for his leadership and wonderful remarks during the event.
