With so many of our fellow Texans struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, Vistra, and our family of retail electricity brands, are pledging $1 million in direct assistance to our customers and communities. These funds will help meet critical needs, aid recovery efforts, and offer bill-payment assistance and flexibility. "This devastating storm has significantly affected the lives of millions, and we are committed to helping those communities in distress. The impacts go far beyond the storm itself as many Texans lost power during sweltering summer heat and have lost vital resources such as food and medicine," said Scott Hudson, president of Vistra Retail. "Our hope is that this contribution will help to provide relief and comfort to those still dealing with Beryl's aftermath." Vistra’s $1 million donation will be divided between our charity and social services partners, who will work directly with impacted Texans to assist with supplies and food, and our own Energy Aid program to help with electric bills. Vistra President and CEO Jim Burke visited CNBC Closing Bell Overtime to talk about Vistra’s role in powering the surging AI boom and the work our Vistra team has been doing for years to meet the growing electrification demand of our customers across the country from California to Maine. Did you know? The history of our company, through our predecessors, dates back to the 1880s. The product we produce hasn’t changed, but the way we produce electricity has continued to evolve for the last 140+ years. Team Vistra is excited about what’s ahead in this industry and for our company. https://lnkd.in/gUMmhMTm
Shares of power generation company Vistra Corp. are up more than 135% this year due to increased demand for energy in data centers powering the AI revolution. Only two S&P 500 companies, Super Micro and Nvidia, are outpacing Vistra year-to-date. “For seven years we’ve been growing our company with this electrification theme in mind. We’ve tripled revenues, we’ve tripled earnings power and that’s all before this latest wave of AI interest,” said Vistra CEO Jim Burke.

The group, which included the Honourable Dr. Tawfiq Chowdhury, Energy Advisory to the Bangladesh Prime Minister, was there to learn how Vistra incorporates battery energy storage systems into our top-down focus on reliability, affordability, and sustainability. We thank this incredible group for making the 7,000+ mile trip!
