Wellstar is proud to partner with 21st Century Leaders, Inc., a nonprofit organization that inspires young leaders. In late June, Wellstar hosted its Healthcare & IT Institute Summer Program and over 75 students spent two days at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center and Wellstar Vinings Health Park learning about healthcare careers. Students met Mary Chatman, Wellstar executive vice president of acute care services, and Lorrie Liang, president of Wellstar Kennestone, and heard from many team members across the system. They had unique hands-on experiences at the hospital including a trauma demo, tours of the cancer center and a cardiovascular operating room, and the opportunity to practice with a surgical robot.
