We recently celebrated another CRE Program graduation! For nine weeks, these students were introduced to various career avenues in the Commercial Real Estate world including design, technical trades, facility management, and project management. We can't thank Porter enough for their partnership in building out this program and sharing their gorgeous space, The Shop by Porter! Congratulations to this latest cohort, we can't wait to see all the amazing things you do next!

Ending youth homelessness and ensuring young people are valued for who they are and empowered to achieve their potential
About us
YouthCare works to end youth homelessness and to ensure that young people are valued for who they are and empowered to achieve their potential. Founded in 1974, YouthCare was one of the first shelters to serve youth experiencing homelessness on the West Coast. Since then, YouthCare has expanded to more than a dozen sites serving over 1,500 youth every year. Through a comprehensive range of services including outreach, prevention, shelter, housing, education, and employment training, YouthCare ensures that young people experiencing homelessness have the hope, skills, and self-confidence needed to thrive. Elena grew up incarcerated. From the age of seven, she was in and out of jail until she was transferred to a juvenile facility at twelve, then at fourteen given a juvenile life sentence (juvenile detention until 18). Her astonishing journey from an orphanage in Bulgaria to the passion she now has for helping others is a story of inspiration, patience, and the trust that can be built when people take the time to see where others are coming from. Volunteers are a huge part of the work we do at YouthCare! We truly could not do this without your partnership and in-presence support. Staff from the Raikes Foundation came out to volunteer at YouthCare recently, showing up for our young people and program staff. Thank you to the Raikes Foundation and all volunteers who come out to support our programs!

Congrats to YouthBuild's latest graduates! Fourteen students dedicated six months to learning construction skills and building a tiny home for the Low Income Housing Institute, all while working towards their GED.
