My role as volunteer is to meet with the mothers in the teen crisis center once every 6-8 months to teach them how to prepare their own baby food at home to save money. I also touch on the benefits of fresh, whole foods as well as maximizing their food stamp allotments.

I am very excited to run the 2020 NYC marathon with EMC!

Repair the World is a non-profit based in NYC deeply committed to helping improve the communities we live in by connecting community members to volunteer opportunities that meet local needs.

  • Barrow Street Nursery School - Snack Program Overhaul

    Working with the leadership team at Barrow Street Nursery School at Greenwich House, Michelle overhauled the preschool's snack program. Previously reliant on shelf-stable, processed snacks, Michelle helped the school transition to all organic and allergy-free snacks. She incorporated a total of 65% fresh fruits and vegetables to ensure the growing children are nourished with only the best sources of food during their school day.

    The clients wanted a fresh modern site with a straightforward cart and checkout experience. Emphasis was placed on the products and user could customize 6-packs of meals.
