Rather than viewing UnifiedNameSpace as an solution, consider it a valuable and complex problem that technical teams and vendors in industries have been diligently working on for years. To address this challenge, individuals must visit plants and delve into the intricacies of data contextualization within large factory environments. Unifying fragmented data sources—accumulated over years with diverse formats, labels, and standards—poses a complex problem that lacks sufficient context. Here’s a quick guide to help you manage these situations effectively: 🟢 Level-1: Different from You Characteristics: Outspoken, competitive, more/less conventional than you. Strategies: Acknowledge and respect differences in personality and approach. Find common ground to build mutual understanding. Adapt your communication style to bridge the gap. 🟡 Level-2: Lacking Skills/Abilities Characteristics: Struggles with completing tasks on time, needs to improve communication skills. Strategies: Provide clear, constructive feedback and support. Offer training or resources to help develop necessary skills. Set clear expectations and follow up regularly. 🟠 Level-3: Frustrating Characteristics: Displays negativity, micro-manages, is passive-aggressive. It enables immediate feedback, instant problem-solving, high productivity, alignment, and clear accountabilities. This approach also offers the team opportunities to travel globally, allowing us to sit together and discuss the path forward. Critical thinking is crucial before reaching any solution—ensuring proposals are based on supporting data rather than assumptions. For life science professionals or students who are interested in the field of AI, data science and machine learning and would like to begin their learning journey, this is what I would recommend as the first step - LEARN DATA LITERACY. I would consider this as essential even for those folks who only want a strategic understanding to leverage these technologies to build new businesses. Which means becoming comfortable working with data (data manipulation, transformation, visualization etc.) and talking about data. I would highly recommend the tool, R or Python for the same. R and Python being programming languages, would require that you need to code. And this is a good thing for the following reasons - 1. The efficiency gain that you will achieve is amazing as compared to a spreadsheet tool such as Excel. 2. You will get over the fear of coding and understand programming. This will enable you to understand other programming languages and will give you the confidence of understanding technology in general. 3. Most importantly, implementation of all machine learning algorithms are available for reuse in these programming languages making it necessary to learn if you want to progress and leverage these algorithms and models. However, the approach for learning needs to be very pragmatic, meaning that you need to start applying whatever you learn immediately on data that you have access to even before the training is complete. There are many trainings on R and python available both for free in youtube, as well as on sites such as udemy.com, coursera, EDX etc. Since there are so many good training content available , I am not giving any personal recommendation. I came across this interesting and timely article by Robert Lemos published by Dark Reading (apologize I could not find his LinkedIn profile). 👀 It is timely to ask this question as government agencies alerted this week on the increase of spoofing emails by #PRK threat actors targeting some people and companies. 🤔 What is the main concern: ⏩ DMARC is apparently straightforward to implement, but if set up wrongly could break critical email services or block time-sensitive business emails. ✅ This is an important reminder to the cybersecurity community to leverage stronger security measures to protect data and people from the impact of criminal or state-sponsored groups #cybersecurity #threatactors #phishing #cyberawareness #emailspoofing #security #dlp
