About the List of Most Interesting Minorities of 2015:

2015 was a year of heartbreak and turmoil for South Carolina but the state met those trials head on with grace and courage and a resilience that only those of us in the Palmetto state could possess. This is particularly true for the individuals that made The MinorityEye’s Most Interesting Minorities of 2015 list.

This year’s group of honorees have persevered through one of the most tumultuous years in the state’s recent history and emerged triumphant. These are individuals who did not let their trials define them; they confronted the challenges of 2015 and stepped up and led by defining the times, and not allowing the times define them.

Each person who made our 5th Annual Most Interesting Minorities List is a true leader. Some served the state in a visible leadership position, others made an impact in their own respective industry; all of them led through action.

Individuals were chosen for the list by using an algorithm similar to what Facebook uses to choose which friends post will show up in your news feed or which ads you see in the sidebar of your browser.

The algorithm monitors and calculates an individual’s digital footprint. In order to make it into the running, a person’s name or business name must be mentioned at least 3,000 times in some form of digital communication that The MinorityEye receives directly or indirectly through emails, search engine queries, social media postings, press release, tags, tweets, etc.
