There are few things more precious than the gift of time. Our Significance Government Staff Technology Empowerment Program (G-STEP) team gave a lot of time back to those DoD Financial Managers who dropped into room 127A Society of Defense Financial Management (SDFM)’s National PDI in Phoenix. If you are in Phoenix, we will be manning the room from 8AM - 4PM tomorrow and Friday. Stop in and we’ll show you how MS365 applications (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Query, etc …) and the tools available to you in Advana can give you time back as well!! #GSTEP, #dataanalytics, #innovation

#USMC BRASS CANNOT EVEN PROVIDE SAFE DOMESTIC HOUSING FOR #Marines & #Families Do they acknowledge that #mold in #military barracks and #militaryFamily housing is cause grave & mystery illnesses? As a civilian, I know first hand that guerilla lawfare and failures to properly mitigate #waterdamage can cause what the doctors call terminal illnesses. #Facebook has many support groups for #mold & #mycotoxin survivors- and many of the groups are wailing walks of desperation pain and impending death. Mold sickness and excess deaths are a national health crisis that #Military #Insurance #contractors & #legislators #lawyers and other officers of the courts know about- and seem to profit by. Let’s fix that. US Congress U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division USMC Special Operations USMC War College (MCWAR) AMAC Foundation Newsmax Media, Inc. Portland Police Bureau
On this special edition of Talking Beat, we're talking about the recruiting and hiring of military veterans. PPB’s Recruitment Officer Patrick Johnson sits down with officer Zach, to discuss his perspective of the bureau as a former marine. In this episode, he will review his firsthand experiences transitioning from the military to the Portland Police Bureau, as well as his views on training in the academies, the benefits of wellness time, making meaningful friendships, and using the GI Bill for job training. As a reminder, the Portland Police Bureau is currently hiring new and lateral officer positions. A six-figure law enforcement career with a $5,000 signing bonus in Oregon’s largest city is available. Top step officer pay is $117K. That is before the vast amounts of overtime opportunities, before guaranteed extra incentives that can exceed 30% in more pay and even before the chance to participate in our three-track promotional process (criminalist, detective and/or sergeant) after just 4.5 years of service. In 2022, criminalists made an average of $134,723, detectives made an average of $162,486 and those in the sergeant rank made an average of $183,041. PPB has the best training on the west coast, likely the country. We have the best-looking badge, best looking uniform, solid gear, a new batch of 70ish technologically advanced patrol cars being rolled out, a 4/10 schedule, over 40 assignment opportunities and we will even pay you while you work out during every shift. It goes without saying, but Oregon’s backyard is unmatched in its beauty…the ocean, the gigantic mountains, the rivers, the lakes, a desert, a gorge, the waterfalls, the forests, etc. We give you more paid time off than most know what to do with to enjoy life outside of work. Want to travel outside of Oregon? PDX was just rated #1 for on-time departures and is consistently rated the best US airport over the past decade. We will even reimburse up to $10,000 for your move to the Pacific Northwest while buying everything you need to work the street as one of Portland’s finest! The hiring process is streamlined and now takes about 5 months, sometimes quicker. To learn more, contact a recruiter or visit https://lnkd.in/gV3iRYMZ

Core Values: Honor | Courage | Commitment Many of you will recognize NAVMC 11341, Marine Corps Values Card, or what we called the Honor Courage Commitment Card in the 90’s. A wallet-sized piece of plastic that was expected to be on your person during inspections and especially during Mess Night shenanigans, but the idea was to carry it at all times. I’m sure most young Marines did, but I doubt it was pulled out and read very often. It was a simple reminder of what was expected at the basic core level, and you won’t meet a Marine that can’t remember Honor Courage Commitment as the core values of the organization. I usually kept mine with my ID card, rifle card, and my meal card, so I saw it often. I guess the employment method worked in my case. Now as a civilian, I enjoy learning about other company’s core values, codes of ethics, and guiding principles. I’m also fascinated in how those methods are employed and communicated. What are your organizations core values? How do you make sure your team knows and understands them as a whole? Do you ever evaluate and modify your core values, or are they set in stone like Honor Courage Commitment has been for 30 years? Always Faithful! 🦅 🌎 ⚓️ United States Marine Corps Marine Corps Recruiting TPM TrebleHook ColorLab #culturematters #leadfromthefront #corevalues

In October 2023, The Army Chief of Staff (CSA) directed the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) to “present options to eliminate and/or significantly reduce online training requirements prior to (resident) PME”. Question? How does this affect the initiative to eventually confer graduate degrees at the SMC and allow for MLC to confer under graduate degrees? Or am I off on this future objective? Discussion. It makes since to eliminate DLC but I hope it doesn’t affect NCOs achieving degrees that are conferred through USASMA. https://lnkd.in/e8rQ7qXF Mike Weimer Michael Grinston Jason Schmidt
