I serve on the Administration and Finance Committee and help lead an ad hoc task force responsible for capital investments in Fritschel Hall.

At Wartburg Seminary, we’ve been preparing leaders for over 160 years, but we’ve never prepared them the same way twice. Each leader is unique, personally grounded in who God created them to be. We’re building a movement to transform the way we interact with and see each other and to counter divisiveness in our communities and in the public sphere.

We bring people together across religious, racial, cultural and political divides to participate together in community service projects. These service projects, and the shared meal and conversation that follow, are important vehicles for people of all backgrounds and beliefs to relate to each other as people and see beyond labels that divide us.

One America was founded by faith and community leaders following the 2016 presidential election and launched with the support of the Jewish service organization Repair the World.

  • Clinging to Hope As...

    Living Lutheran

Not often at a loss for words, I haven’t been able to string together my thoughts about the city I’ve come to love and consider “mine.” And there seems to be no language sufficient to borrow.

  • Leading with Questions

Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism

It occurred to me that I let the momentum of the too-busy work week get the best of the days set aside to rest, rejuvenate, reconnect. I try to make up for lost time, just not with the most important people in my life. It’s cliché, I know. But I suppose it’s cliché for a reason.

  • Despots, Detention and an Immigration Epiphany

    Washingon Post On Faith

The stories of those in detention – many of them women separated from their children – continue to impress upon me the dire need for America to expand its alternatives to detention. And they remind me how far we’ve yet to go.
