Should affiliate.ai build a forecasting product for affiliate marketing? Why has nobody built one before? We wont try and build one that is 100% accurate, we would build one that is 80% right (for now), but shaves the first 8 hours of the process of reforecasting

For the last several months... lord, it's been almost a year, I've been working on a task force with the IAB Tech Lab to evaluate elements of the Google Chrome Privacy Sandbox, which is a set of tools designed to help marketers reach their audience after 3rd party cookies are deprecated. It has been a slog. Over the course of time the document grew from 30 pages to now, I think, over 100 pages. It covers over 40 important use cases for advertisers, publishers and ad-tech vendors in-between. The question to answer: How well do the Sandbox tools support the use cases? My key takeaways: - Nothing is as useful or easy as the simple cookie - Implementation of Sandbox features is a heavy lift for most ad-tech companies - Publisher revenue will fall when cookies go away as these replacements are not as effective That being said, we're still marching toward a more privacy focused future in the online advertising ecosystem. Whether or not the Sandbox proves to be very useful, cookies will either go away, or regulation will step in and leverage the law to enforce privacy compliance. Change is coming.

What Dropbox Capture's launch reminded me about great UI/UX-- Besides competitive/comparative analysis, since the product is button-by-button the same as Loom. But startup consumer tech gets this simple rule wrong more than half of the time: - Tell me what's about to happen - Tell me why it's happening - Do it without surprises Need to get microphone access on my computer? Show me what the button will look like that's about to pop up, remind me that you need it to capture audio for your beautiful screen recordings, and then when you click OK, it all happens. Need permission to record my screen? Sounds scary! Not if you just reminded me that you are a screen recording app, you'll only use it when I, the user, hit 'record', and tell me what the exact checkbox looks like that I'm about to hit. Good UI/UX isn't just about getting me to my experience with as few clicks as possible, though that is very, very important. It's also about making the user feel like we're being given a big, warm product version of a hug. If my software is a dentist, I want it to say, "You're about to hear a big scary drill noise and a little poke, but don't worry, it's just clearing out that nasty cavity so it won't hurt anymore." Don't just shove the drill in my molar. ✋ Who else uses sticky notes to remind them how to approach different situations? These days, I have 3 sticky notes on my computer monitor (along with a moonstone from the lovely team at Mad Devs LLC 😁 ) that serve as guiding principles in my approach to communication and collaboration. Sticky 1: ☑ Ask why ☑ Understand their side ☑ Come up with a plan together ⭐ A reminder that many opinions and a healthy debate are positive when making a decision. A co-created plan or sometimes even an informed compromise may result in the best outcomes. Sticky 2: ☑ Ask about what changed ☑ Can you help me understand the new direction and how it supports business outcomes? ⭐ A strategy for understanding why a decision, opinion, or feedback changed suddenly and a way to politely re-assert your position. Sticky 3: ☑ How can we help you be more successful? ⭐ The question that should inform all my decisions in the product space. ❓ So, I'm curious: Any sticky notes to share? Ok story time folks. I'm going to lay out how we used Influencers at #WeWork and how it drove 3x the revenue that the program cost to run. When we launched the WeWork All Access products (both the monthly membership and the daily pass options), we were looking for low cost ways to get the word out about the products. This is when we begun to explore partnering with influencers. The concept was to offer them three months of All Access in return for promoting the product on their channels. This worked better than we imaged. Not only did we get tons of free content that we could use, we also were able to drive 3X the revenue of the entire cost of the program (we tracked this using a promo code). Working with influencers can be tricky, but if you find the right ones to match your products, it can be an incredibly effective way to build brand affinity and revenue! #Influncers #Influencermarketing #marketing #digitalmarketing

I'm a big fan of Beam Content 💡and jumped at the opportunity to participate in their Content Gap survey (and it's very rare for me to take a survey that takes more than about a minute). Now the results of their survey are out in their "Closing the Content Gap" report. There are tons of great takeaways--one that stood out to me is that 69% of content marketers and 72% of non-content marketers believe content marketing will become more important moving forward. With GenAI tools making it easy to create mediocre content, I see the demand increasing for high-quality content marketing driven by research and subject matter expertise. To the people in my network who have experience working with influencers and creators specifically for paid ads: I'm interested to know how you go about negotiating usage rights and what is a standard/common rate for you to agree to? The rates I've been quoted by agencies/creators in the past just aren't feasible and wouldn't generate anywhere near a positive ROI so would be interesting to hear other people's experience of this. Thoughts?

This was an inevitability once the president signed the law forcing parent company ByteDance to sell off TikTok by January of next year. Whatever your opinion is on this - for marketers, there's one adage that this whole situation is underscoring in bold: don't put all your eggs in one basket. For social media managers, that means don't put all your effort and investment into a single platform, TikTok or otherwise - no matter how well it outperforms the others. For brands and businesses, don't put all your effort and investment into social media (and I say this as a social media professional). For influencers, find ways to capture and connect with your fans beyond a single social media platform, and always be flexing your muscles in other avenues. Nothing is certain, sacred or set in stone when it comes to social.
