The Position
Perform work under general supervision. Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work within specific limits and authority on assignments of simple to moderate technical complexity. Usually assigned to a line of business or unit for analyzing loss and expense reserves or premium rates. Maintain eligibility in the Actuarial Student Program and be working toward eventual attainment of Associate or Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries.
Responsibilities
Develop knowledge of actuarial work, insurance principles, industry trends, and regulation through industry and actuarial resources
Interpret state-specific and National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) regulations for guidance to accurately complete policy form filings
Support policy form filings by preparing experience exhibits for actuarial memoranda and review technical aspects of policy forms
Assists in preparation of responses to State Department of Insurances’ inquiries regarding policy form filings by completing analysis, assumption walks, and communicating responses
Maintain and validate actuarial models (Excel, R, and PowerBI, etc)
Demonstrate proficiency with advanced Excel techniques and programming
Maintain documentation of actuarial analysis
Work with and analyze large data sets
May perform research, experience studies and other statistical analyses
Perform other duties as assigned and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Develop a strong network of peers and mentors

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
Experience: No experience required
Must have passed at least one actuarial exam towards Associateship in the CAS or SOA
Strong mathematical background
Minimum or better 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications
