As an Investment Operations Analyst II, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by demonstrating:

How You Will Make An Impact

  • The ability to process, calculate, and verify cash transactions and the reconciliation of asset made by Pacific Life Investment.
  • Research and investigate skills to resolve exception items (non-forecasted items or outside of tolerance) in an experienced manner. Discrepancies are identified and communicated to the applicable entities.
  • Effective Interaction with colleagues, custodian banks, internal departments (Accounting, Audit, Treasury, Corporate Finance, etc.) and other areas where necessary to ensure timely settlement of all cash flows associated with traded instruments.
  • The knowledge and understanding of common fixed income and derivative products, including true private placements and bank loans.
  • An awareness of trends and patterns across product types and workflows in order to refine current process and procedures to help define the future state of operations in order to support a growing and complex business.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Thorough understanding of Investment Operations, new concepts and regulations and technology being used, including trading workflows and typical systems involved.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Some working knowledge of the following systems: Bloomberg, Excel, Business Objects, MS Office Suite, ePAM.
  • Professional interpersonal, networking, and communication skills: must be able to efficiently work in a fast-paced environment with brokers, custodians, and traders as well as other internal departments. Must be able to work with internal and external counsel and/or senior investment professionals to resolve complex issues.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performing all responsibilities by following documented processes and procedures, exhibiting attention to detail/accuracy and showing initiative to help improve or redesign key processes.
  • Work in a team environment as well as autonomously to meet strict deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of commonly traded fixed income products (bonds, ABS, private placements) and related securities operations
  • Research, problem solving, and resolution skills, including familiarity with legal documents and internal files related to securities owned.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • 1-3 years fixed income experience working in Investment Operations/Middle Office role in asset management, Hedge Fund, or investment banking.
  • College degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar discipline, is preferred.
  • Strong aptitude for numbers and ability to understand abstract concepts and recognize patterns.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver

Base Pay Range

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$35.18 - $43.00
