Role

Harris Williams is looking to hire an Associate to join the Lender Coverage team in our Cleveland, Ohio office. The Lender Coverage team works with all industry groups to provide capital markets support throughout the various stages of an M&A engagement, from initial pitch phase through deal execution. The Associate will work closely with a Managing Director to support the needs of lender coverage efforts.

The Associate Will Have The Following Responsibilities

  • Advise deal teams on financing options for prospects and clients across the entire transaction life cycle.
  • Research credit market trends and company profiles to target certain lenders and prospective clients.
  • Execute financial modelling and analyses to evaluate creditworthiness of prospects and clients and prepare them for buyouts and capital raising transactions.
  • Prepare marketing materials for meetings with various capital providers.
  • Communicate with deal team members and clients, including, corporate executives, private equity investors, bank and private credit partners.
  • Maintain general awareness and knowledge of up-to-date credit market information.
  • Assist in creating capital markets updates for internal firmwide distributions and for external presentations.
  • Relationship building with investors across the spectrum of leveraged finance; the Associate will participate in most internal and external meetings, and in many cases lead conversations.
  • Manage CRM and various databases and provide reporting and analytics support for the Lender coverage effort.


Qualified Candidates Will Possess

  • 2-4 years of debt capital markets and/or leveraged finance experience.
  • The ability to work closely with a small team of internal senior professionals and develop relationships with senior credit market participants.
  • Enthusiasm for interacting with a broad range of businesses in various industries.
  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational and functional disciplines.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Additional Job Description

Base Salary: $175,000

Role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
