Position Summary

The Assistant Vice President, Capital Markets will be responsible for all designated tasks in support of the group's product development, capital raising and client servicing efforts for Berkshire's Multifamily Investment businesses.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Support new product development and corporate growth strategy

  • internal product approval memos, business plans and Board of Directors presentations for different product initiatives
  • with the compilation of industry and competitive research, including assessment of market terms and conditions
  • with product structuring and understanding legal and tax issues
  • the production of Private Placement Memorandums
  • fund model outputs and effectively communicate results with prospective investors
  • and price potential M&A activity and other inorganic growth opportunities


Support capital raising and client servicing efforts for a range of products

  • the completion of due diligence questionnaire requests and RFPs
  • edit and update marketing materials
  • and update key corporate statistics and track record information
  • with preparation for investor meetings and site visits
  • with the completion of investor and consultant information requests
  • and maintain online data rooms for prospective investors
  • with other Berkshire teams to collect data and information for prospective investors
  • and leverage the team’s CRM to track prospective investor communications and assess the composition of Berkshire’s investor base


Internal support for Business Development initiatives

  • and collaborate with other Business Development team members
  • prepare internal capital markets updates
  • in the completion of strategic area plans
  • demonstrate use of tact and discretion


Knowledge/Experience:

  • of 5 years of experience in real estate investment management
  • banking, real estate private equity or institutional real estate consulting background a plus
  • analytical and Excel modeling skills
  • with CRM software
  • to work independently, handle multiple priorities and apply good judgment
  • energetic, team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
  • to work effectively with Berkshire employees and other professionals
  • broad knowledge base and “big picture” strategic thinking
  • self-confidence with senior management
  • mature conduct in high pressure and sensitive situations
  • interest in a real estate investment management career
  • management skills with track record of building teams and identifying, mentoring, and growing talent in-person and virtual
  • for organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple priorities, using critical thinking and problem solving
  • multi-modal communication style that reaches every stakeholder, specifically excellent verbal and written communication

Technical/Educational Requirements:

  • advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • ability to use and learn new technology (e.g., computers/hardware, mobile, software, cloud-based programs)

  • in remainder of Microsoft Suite of Products (e.g., Word, Outlook, Teams,)
