Business Controller

Overview:

Exciting opportunity as a Business Controller with a growing pharmaceutical company. This Raleigh, NC based company is expanding based on a growing vaccine portfolio and has recently done an acquisition in North America- As they begin integrating additional activities and aligning tools and processes, the Business Controller will be an important part of the commercial controlling and reporting.

Job Description

As a business controller, you will be a member of a Finance team of five, with responsibility for overseeing aspects of the U.S and Canadian financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization through meticulous analysis and effective business partnering. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work well with people at all levels both internal and external.

Responsibilities include:

The right applicant will bring a broad set of budgeting, cross functional collaboration and analytical skills and is open to a broad set of tasks within the finance department:

• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. Ensure regulatory requirements.
• Conduct thorough financial analysis to evaluate the North American performance, identify trends, and assess areas for improvement. This includes analyzing key financial metrics, variance analysis, and profitability analysis.
• Influencing commercial business decisions by creating KPI’s specific to customers and classes of trade.
• Collaborate with the commercial team to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and providing explanations for deviations
• Maintain compliance with federal contracts by conducting U.S. Census and Federal Business surveys
  
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Strong partnering skills incl. communication, influencing and collaboration skills.
• Proven experience (5 years) in financial management, accounting, or related roles.
• Experience in Pharma is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
