JobSummary: The Camp Pursuit Camp Counselor is responsible for supervising and guiding campers with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This includes organizing activities, ensuring campers safety, offering emotional support, greeting new campers and implementing camp rules and guidelines. Handles confidential information.
Key Responsibilities: **
Plans, leads, and implements camp programs.
Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
Maintains a schedule for camp participants.
Facilitates and creates plans for activities.
Organizes and leads various small and large group activities
Ensures the cleanliness of the camp location.
Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, documentation, rosters and attendance.
Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the overall camp program.
Records and tracks camper’s dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures that the meals/snacks are distributed to them.
Mediates any campers’ disputes.
Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program.
Qualifications: **
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have good organizational, problem solving, verbal, and written skills.
Preferred Qualifications: **
Minimum of two (2) years camp counselor related experience
Light industrial and camp product handling experience.
