Job Description

Assists and provides guidance to separated or separating students during the prescribed service period, providing placement (employment, apprenticeship, and post-secondary education enrollment) and transition services.

  • Assess graduates/former trainee's placement readiness, provide appropriate referrals and accompanying support services in accordance with DOL, Center, and Equus requirements.
  • Maintains contact with pending placement program participants, documents outcomes as case notes in CIS.
  • Ensures timely placement and retention of assigned graduates and former enrollees in quality jobs, the military, or further education and training opportunities.
  • Promotes job development through direct contact with employers, One-Stops, JTPA, and State Employment Agencies.
  • Participates in ESP/CMT panels as required or directed.
  • Participates in OMS/Projection meetings.
  • Retrieves placement documentation and retains on file.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
  • Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
  • Attends all required staff training opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field; or
  • Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience.
  • Experience working with diverse youth.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
