Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/President, the Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer is responsible for the development and overall strategic direction of Accounting, Finance, and Facilities. The CFO manages SMB's asset/liability position, liquidity and investment portfolio. Additionally, ensuring the time and accurate internal and State reporting of financials, annual budget, peer group analysis, expense control, profitability models, general ledger and accounts payable management.

The CFO will serve as a visionary leader providing support to the CEO/President and Board of Directors as an engaging member of the executive and senior management teams, implementing financial strategies to achieve SMB's strategic business plan.

Qualifications

  • CPA and/or master's degree highly desirable with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 10+ years of broad financial management experience. Previous experience in a credit union or financial institution role is highly desired. Demonstrated ability and experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as well as demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations impacting the Accounting and Finance functions.
  • Strong teamwork and cross-departmental collaboration is required.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams and communicate at the highest levels, both written and verbally.
  • Must project a positive, professional image on behalf of the credit union as well present to the Board of Directors, Senior Management and all levels of the Credit Union.
  • Experience in market and profitability analysis and financial forecasting as well as excellent analytical, organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel on behalf of the credit union, as required.
